NEW STUDIES and Other Activities
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on social and economic life. Not only does the disease pose an imminent threat to life but it has also proven to be a disruptor of livelihoods. Battling the disease involves not only health and health system interventions but also demands a revision of social and economic policies and of social protection provisions.
Researchers in our network have been involved in a number of initiatives and projects that aim to understand the linkages of disease to social protection, enable capacity in policy making in the field of social and economic policy and provide an academic grounding in the social study of diseases and epidemics.
